Plumbing, Drainage and Pipework
Some pool and spa pipework is general equipment-area work. Other work may be regulated plumbing, drainage or gasfitting.
Ask what the pipework connects to
Pool hydraulics around a pump and filter are not always the same as regulated plumbing or drainage. If the work connects to water supply, sewer, sanitary drainage, stormwater drainage, backflow equipment, gas pipework or building services, check the relevant licence class.
Evidence to request
- Plumbing or drainage licence/registration number
- Gasfitting class if gas pipework is involved
- Compliance certificate or record where required
- Business contractor licence where the state requires it
