Heaters

Heater Technician Scope

A heater technician may need gasfitting, electrical or refrigerant authority depending on whether the heater is gas, electric or a heat pump.

Gas heaterGasfitting / Type A

Burners, gas valves, gas pressure, flues, combustion and internal gas appliance servicing are not general pool service.

Electric heaterElectrical authority

240V heater testing, fixed wiring, RCD diagnosis and electrical component replacement need the correct electrical authority.

Heat pumpElectrical + refrigerant

Heat pumps may involve electrical work and refrigerant handling. Do not assume a pool technician can work inside the refrigerant circuit.
